Definition: a strategic tutoring service and college preparatory firm designed to develop and support the academic and leadership potential of young adults. ZeroPeriod is founded on five core principles:

Through our highly effective tutoring services and personalized approach, members develop the life and learning skills needed to gain a head start towards the next phase of their lives.
The idea is simple. Offer students the personalized resources and opportunities to build the skills and confidence they need to compete - in school, college and in life.
At ZeroPeriod, students are held to high standards - academically, personally and professionally. As a member, students are challenged to practice being their best - not tomorrow, but everyday. Here, we instill the courage for students to continuously improve and push their own limit. We challenge them to believe in themselves and provide the support they need to do so.
We partner with families, educators and the community to empower students with the tools and knowledge to realize their best no matter where they are today.
Started in 2009, ZeroPeriod was developed in close collaboration with high school students across the Sacramento community. In 2010, ZeroPeriod merged with CR Tutoring Services, an accomplished Sacramento area tutoring firm providing effective tutoring, time management and study skills assistance to students.
Using current students' input and perspectives, the program accounts for the realities and challenges facing today's teens while integrating innovative and proven strategies used by the world's most successful individuals.
ZeroPeriod was founded by Ms. Christine Sison with the simple goal to equip students with the skills and drive to be innovative and effective leaders. After obtaining her Bachelors degree at the University of California (UC), Berkeley in Neurobiology, she conducted brain tumor research at UC San Francisco. She later pursued a Masters Degree at the Harvard School of Public Health in Policy and Management and returned to California to work as a consultant. Throughout her educational and professional careers, Ms. Sison continuously sought opportunities to provide young adults with the tools they needed to become active and responsible citizens. Recognizing the need for more robust educational support for today's students, Ms. Sison founded ZeroPeriod in 2009 after returning to her hometown in Sacramento.
Striving to aid students in their pursuit of academic excellence, Clint Rogers was the founder and manager of CR Tutoring Services which provided high quality math services from the elementary to the college level across the Sacramento area. Through his organization, Sacramento area students of all grade levels and academic backgrounds saw improvement in their understanding of the course material and overall GPAs. Not limited to math, he supplements students by improving skills in time management, test preparation, and general organization. Clint's experience as a manager and tutor has allowed him to quickly identify and tailor the best strategy for each student to reach their academic potential.

ZeroPeriod provides a number of professional development workshops and resources to help students more effectively communicate, build and convey confidence and improve the skills necessary to advance both academically and professionally.
As a member, students have access to a number of professional development workshops which include our Leadership Series; Business Communication Skills; and Resume, Interview, and Networking Basics. These critical workshops provide both the opportunity to learn and translate their learnings into tangible actions.
ZeroPeriod also offers a mentoring program and opportunities to meet with local business owners and community leaders. Together, these activities complement and support the growth of ZeroPeriod students into confident, effective leaders.
At ZeroPeriod, we believe leadership is an active learning process. As a member, students have the resources to build, apply and strengthen their leadership skills through regular practice.
We partner with students to identify personal, academic and professional leadership roles throughout the year, instilling confidence and improving their effectiveness as communicators and young leaders.
Meaningful community service is a central tenet at ZeroPeriod. Through regular service events, students have the opportunity to give back to their communities, network with peers and local organizations, learn new skills and enrich their perspective.
ZeroPeriod works with members to identify service activities that align with their specific interests while helping to meet community needs.
Almost every area we touch involves diversity, particularly as it relates to academic and professional pursuits. The ability to understand and appreciate different perspectives and other cultures is key to developing relationships and collaborating effectively with others.
Members have the opportunity to enrich their understanding and knowledge of others through a variety of forums that promote mutual trust and respect.
We know that finding the right tutor can be a challenge. That's why at ZeroPeriod, we've done the hard work of recruiting and partnering with only the most qualified and effective tutors. We provide supplemental education in a variety of subjects by focusing on study skills, time management, test prep and organization. With committed tutors located across the Sacramento region, we are able to work with nearly every schedule and location. Our goal is to work with the student and the classroom curriculum to guide every person to their academic potential.
Our philosophy: To be successful tutoring, one must go beyond re-lecturing a student. A tutor must be able to understand a students frustration and practice patience. Listening to a student as well as the parents is paramount while identifying the focus of each meeting. Each tutoring session must achieve more than correcting recent problems. It must build a student's confidence, understanding and ability to excel.
